To ensure the safety, stability, smooth operation, and extended service life of the manual window opener after installation, this article explains the installation dimensional requirements and standards for manual window openers.
This standard applies to common window types such as casement windows (inward or outward opening), top-hung windows, and bottom-hung windows. The recommended width of the operable sash is between 500mm and 1500mm, and the height is between 400mm and 1200mm. Before installation, check that the window frame and sash structure are sound and free from deformation. The flatness error of the installation surface should not exceed 2mm. Ensure the load-bearing capacity of the opener is not less than the actual weight of the sash to avoid overload damage.
I. Main Installation Dimensional Requirements
1.The fixed hole spacing for the hand crank is typically 80mm, 100mm, or 120mm. Please select the corresponding hole spacing according to the product model.
2.The diameter of the fixing holes should not be less than 6mm. It is recommended to use M6 expansion screws or self-tapping screws to ensure secure installation.
3.The effective length of the transmission rod should be 50mm to 80mm longer than the maximum opening stroke of the sash to allow for adjustment space and prevent operational jams.
4.Recommended installation height for the hand crank: 1.2m to 1.5m above the floor for residential environments; 1.4m to 1.6m above the floor for public spaces, to facilitate operation by people of different heights.
II. Other Installation Clearance Requirements
1.The distance between the outer edge of the hand crank housing and the edge of the window frame should not be less than 30mm.
2.The distance between the transmission rod and the edge of the glass should not be less than 20mm to avoid friction or contact with the glass.
3.The coaxiality error between the transmission rod and the opener's connecting shaft should be less than 1mm.
4.The alignment deviation between the hinge and the transmission rod mounting hole should not exceed 2mm to ensure synchronized transmission.
III. Installation Acceptance Standards
1.The allowable deviation for overall installation dimensions is ±3mm, and the deviation for fixed hole positions should not exceed ±1mm.
2.During acceptance, use a tape measure to check key dimensions and a level to ensure the hand crank is installed horizontally.
3.Simulate opening and closing the window at least 10 times to check for any jamming, unusual noises, or spring-back issues.
4.Only if all the above requirements are met can the installation be considered qualified.
